WINE
AND CHEESE
Our last annual “Wine and Cheese” was held on February
7th. Have fun viewing
some memorable photos of “your friends”!
Thursday, February the seventh marked our third annual "Wine & Cheese for "The Friends of Stewart Hall". Even though the attendance was less than last year, the executive appreciated all members and their guests who attended. They were rewarded by classical strains capably performed by the husband and wife duet of Stewart and Joanne Grant, lending a relaxed and intimate atmosphere to the proceedings. The executive of "The Friends of Stewart Hall" opted this year to concentrate on Quebec cheeses and they were much appreciated. The highlight of the evening was noted raconteur and savant for all matters "cheese," Mr. Raymond Ferland from the Fromagerie Atwater. Mr. Ferland was to educate us not only in the tasting of each selection , but also in the pairing with three different wines. I am sure people came away from the evening much more knowledgeable about Quebec cheeses and their producers , who are superb. Personally, I favoured: The Beaujolais Grille Bertrand Midi Brac de la Perrière and Le Migneron, although the mineral aspect of the Campogrande Antinori orvieto paired with the grainy l’Hercule came in a close second.
